Meet Kelly

Kelly got her start in criminal law during law school. First, working with the firm of Agoston and Chandler in Naples, Florida. Upon moving back to Minnesota, she became a law clerk with the Public Defenders Office in Anoka, Minnesota where she gained her desire to be active in litigation. After law school, Kelly obtained a position as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Anne K. McKeig in Hennepin County, who is now an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of Minnesota. Kelly then had the opportunity to work as an Assistant Public Defender in Anoka and Chisago Counties, representing hundreds of clients on charges ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. Kelly has substantial litigation experience and has successfully represented clients with outcomes including suppression of evidence, dismissal of charges and acquittal by both bench and jury. Kelly also has extensive experience representing Veterans in her capacity as Defense Counsel to the Anoka County Veterans Court, a program she has been involved with in varying capacities since 2012 and remains a passion of hers. Most recently, Kelly has expanded her involvement in the treatment Courts and now acts as Defense Counsel to the Anoka County Drug Treatment Court.
